Hi, I’m Mike Myers. And yeah, baby, I know what you’re thinking—unfortunate name, right? But trust me, I’ve heard it all so I look for new and unique jokes. I had a teacher in middle school named Ms. Still and she would say the same thing. If a student came up with a joke she hadn’t heard of, she would reward them with a candy bar. A king size! So if we meet, and you’ve got a joke, I’ll get you a candy bar. Let’s talk about something way more important: my rollercoaster journey with dieting, weight loss, weight gain, and everything in between.

I’m a finance-educated guy who’s spent years figuring out how to make healthy living a real, sustainable part of my life. Through all the ups and downs, rigorous habits, ignoring those habits, reinventing them, ignoring them again, losing weight, gaining it back, trying every diet under the sun, I’ve finally reached a place where I feel like I’ve figured some things out. And now, I want to share what I’ve learned, the good and the messy, right here with you. It has taken a while to get to this point but I am in a spot where I mostly just choose healthy foods and let myself eat as much as I want. I exercise 7 days a week, sometimes hard, and sometimes just a walk.

It all started with the paleo diet. It made sense to me—simple, natural, historically sustainable. And you know what? It worked. I lost all the weight I’d packed on during college. But then life happened. I got comfortable, fell in love with my now wife (who’s amazing, by the way), and decided it was a good time to take my health off the priority list. Sound familiar?

Fast forward a few years, and I stumbled into clean eating. I was on a mission and, admittedly, in competition with a family member to lose weight. Over six months, I dropped 70 pounds. I crushed it, won the competition, and lived in my smaller jeans for a couple of years. But here’s the thing—I didn’t do it sustainably. My calorie intake was way too low, I was drinking too much, and eventually, all those good habits disappeared.

Enter Keto. Wow. Keto was a revelation—a lifestyle where I could eat amazing food, feel full, and not feel guilty about it. We learned how to turn holiday meals and everyday favorites into delicious, keto-friendly options. And it worked—for a while. But just like before, life crept back in, and old habits took over.

By this point, I’d lost 50+ pounds three separate times. I knew I couldn’t keep playing this game forever. So now? I’m doing low-carb. I call it keto when it’s convenient (like on Thanksgiving when I devoured four servings of cauliflower mac and cheese, brussel sprout casserole and the sleepy serving of turkey!), but I’ve kicked some bad habits for good, and honestly, it feels great.

That’s why I’m here—sharing my journey, holding myself accountable, and hopefully inspiring you along the way. I’m living in sunny Florida, focusing on staying healthy, keeping my energy up, and trying to be the person I always hoped I’d grow up to be. Sure, it might’ve taken me 15 years longer than I planned, but I’ve finally got the alertness, clarity, and love for life I’d been missing. And I’m not letting it go this time.

I truly believe all diets can work—it’s about being responsible, staying smart, and sticking with the good habits you build. Oh, and don’t forget to move your body, even if it’s just a walk. I once had a coworker tell me that the p90X program didn’t work. After I picked my jaw up off from the ground, I gathered my composure and bit my tongue. Obviously it works, just be smart and consistent. That’s what it always will be about. So find happiness while you do it and it can last forever.

Here’s to you, here’s to life, and here’s to living it well!
